LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics: Beauty with a Conscience

August 9, 2012

Do you ever take the time to read the ingredient lists of your cosmetics or facial cleansers? If you do, you know that most of the ingredients are either unpronounceable or unrecognizable as actually words in the English language. When I was contacted about the launch of the second LUSH Cosmetics Shop at the Halifax Shopping Centre I was pleased to learn that LUSH products are all handmade, 100% vegetarian, 80% vegan, 67% preservative-free, and 46% free of wasteful packaging with absolutely no animal testing being done on LUSH products and/or ingredients. With more than 800 locations worldwide, and 16 years of expereince under their belts, LUSH has been around the beauty block once or twice, and they are determined to offer guilt free cruelty free natural handmade cosmetics and beauty products.

The LUSH shops’ clean and simple design showcases are kind of fun with bath, body, hair and skin care products made from fruits and vegetables (organic whenever possible) and ethically sourced essential oils.  Soaps are piled high like exotic cheeses, bath bombs are presented like perfectly round apples and fresh face masks served up from ice-filled fridges. Known for cruelty-free “naked” products with cheeky names, effective ingredients, and environmental conscience it’s a win/win for everyone. LUSH takes a genuine “back to basics” approach to their products that encourage an ethical approach by ensuring the least impact on the environment while still producing effective and innovative beauty products.

Don't they just look good enough to eat? So adorable. With plenty of off-beat cosmetics and beauty product ideas loaded with natural ingredients you’ll be sure to find something.

Welcome LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmestics to the Halifax Shopping Centre! Looking forward to checking out the new shop! Look out wallet! You're in trouble.

Sincerely,
Short Presents.

  1. Lush is one of my favourite spots. I love their solid shampoos. Wish we had one on PEI!
