Catch a Wave with DAVIDs Tea

January 5, 2012

Are you looking for something to help move things along in the New Year's resolution department? Did you indulge over the holidays? Of course you did we all did. How could anyone resist all the delicious deletable drinks, and treats.

Okay imagination is getting carried away here, but it's a new year, and with the new year brings hope and opportunity. We all want to be better versions of ourselves, and I love that we make new year's resolutions to try to achieve our goals. One of my many goals this year is to try to eat less processed foods, and try to stick to foods/products that are closer to the earth. I know that I can't commit a 100%, because I love me some potato chips and crispy mini's, but I am going to flirt with the idea of going organic.

"Out with the old and in with the new" says this delicious tea (if it could talk).  Organic Splash by DAVIDs Tea  is designed to rid you of toxins in order to get you moving towards a brand new anti-toxin you!

I enjoyed this tea while I was at the mall, so unfortunately I didn't get any photos, but the one below was taken when I took a ferry ride to Two If By Sea, and enjoyed so yummy tea. For more on that excursion click here: http://shortpresents.blogspot.com/2011/04/two-if-by-sea.html

Two If By Sea

Now don't cringe when you read "sea lettuce" or "green tea" honestly you can't taste either of those over the peppermint and ginger.  Besides we should be moving towards regarding seaweed and sea lettuce as vegetables from the ocean. We eat food from dirt (cow poo) all the time; how is this any different?

There are so many health benefits to seaweed and the Japanese have been exploring them for years, and it isn't any wonder why they have some of the best skin around. I love green tea, and not just because of its super qualities, but I like mostly how I feel when I drink it. You know when you can just feel that you are doing something good for your body? Like going to the gym.

Green tea has been linked to: preventing cancer, high blood pressure, infections, and cardiovascular disease just to name a few. Green tea has also been linked to weight loss if that peeks your interest; try replacing any of your cups of coffee in the run of a day and you'll see and feel the difference. This green tea combines the added benefit of sea lettuce, so it's like a super hero in your body trying to knock out all the bad guys: like Batman.

Tea Suggestions:

  • Do NOT add milk to your green tea please because it actually cancels out the good properties in the tea.
  • Also if you pour pipping hot water on your tea leaves you will burn your tea leaves, and cause them to create a bitter taste. YUCK! Don't do that, either don't allow the water to come to a complete boil OR let the water sit for a few minutes after boiling. Sometimes I add some ice cubes in the water before pouring it over the tea.

At $8.50 per 50 gram bag this tea won't set you back too much and besides your liver and kidneys will thank you.

Here's to lookin' at you kid!
sincerely
