When I was coordinating an outfit for my graduation I decided on a pastel dress. Most of my dressier clothing is left over from winter and so all the clutches and handbags are black or red. I ran out of time shopping, and not to mention I was quite frustrated that I couldn't find single pair of shoes to fit my narrow feet or a cardigan that matched the dress.
Disappointed with my shopping experience, I went home dress in hand and went to bed. Somehow by the grace of God I woke up with an epiphany. I realized I bought a white sequin clutch at a yard sale like 10 years ago that would work PERFECTLY with the dress. I got down on my hands and knees and hauled out the large box under my bed and BAM! My prayers were answered. I then opened my closet and realized I had the perfect cardigan, and shoes to go with the dress. It's like the items I so desperately needed fell from the sky and coordinated themselves.
This bag that cost 25 cents, literally saved the day; it held everything I needed, and more. As I was walking to get a latte after a beautiful light lunch at Il Mercato I wondered where this purse had been before in its previous life with its previous owner. I got to day dreaming about its life along the river in Paris or in the streets of Italy. I wondered how long ago that the woman who previously owned this great clutch got all dressed up and went to lunch with a handsome man. She was rather old and frail, but by all her treasures she was selling she seemed like she had a good life. Since she was having the yard sale because she was moving into a retirement home I got the impression its probably been a while since she and it had a night out on the town.
If you are anything like me, you might realize that you had what you were looking for all along.
Sorry for the delay
Happy Friday,
