Contrary to what you may think, I did not paint these eggs myself. These eggs came straight from the hen, and this is exactly how they came out. A woman who owns her own agricultural farm in Cape Breton, has hens from all over the world and the eggs are colored in order camouflage them from other animals.
We are so used to our pristine white eggs that, if these eggs showed up on our plates we'd probably be alarmed. I ate some of these eggs while I was home, and coming from a person who eats eggs almost every day for years: these eggs were good. I'm not sure if it's the lack of hormones or if these hens just live better lives, but these eggs just tasted fresh. Appearance and presentation are very important when it comes to food, but never let something out of the ordinary deter you from enjoying something different.
Happy Easter,
