This month is National Oatmeal Month, but for me every month is Oatmeal month. I love those little fibre infused oats, they are warm and sweet the perfect afternoon treat. Lame rhyming aside; I literally eat oatmeal every single day for lunch. No joke, my students make fun of me because my classroom "smells like maple" first period in the afternoon. I can't count how many people comment on the smell, and say "oh what smells so good?" or "that is a genius idea". Honestly the reason I eat oatmeal is because there is zero prep work involved. My biggest issue is that I have to clean my bowl afterwards. There is no thinking involved, and it fills me up. I buy the one with extra protein and less sugar. So as you embark on the week ahead, you might find yourself feeling like you don't want to prepare anything, or maybe your new years resolution is to save some cash flow, or you just want to increase your fiber intake (a good idea). Whatever the issue oatmeal is an excellent choice.

Ideally you should be getting 25 grams of fibre a day, and this can be obtained by increasing the amountt of whole grains and fruits (with skins) in your diet.Jazz up your oatmeal with some raisins, or some milk if you so desire. Fresh fruit is also a great option like blueberries or apple slices: super yum.
Happy trails,

Yay oatmeal. I bought a huge bag of quick-cook oats to make yummy oatmeal in the morning. Bags of frozen fruit complete the deliciousness.
