It's a good thing that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because my favorite food is definitely breakfast food. Even though I rarely switch it up I love pancakes, omelettes, cereal, toast, and green tea. Above all my favorite are (and you should know I consistently ate them for breakfast for an entire year): hard boiled eggs.
I simply love them, packed with protein one or two of these little suckers, with a slice of whole wheat toast and a splash of green tea hold me well into the lunch hour. Sometimes I sneak in an apple and some raisins in between, but I'm typically comfortable until it's time for oatmeal.
At 70 calories and 5 grams of fat, you do have to be careful about the cholesterol in eggs, but I once read that if you are an active person you can comfortably enjoy eggs for breakfast 5 days out of the week. If you are going to have fat it should be in the morning because then you'll burn it off all day. If you have protein when you get up in the morning you are kick starting your engine for the rest of the day. You don't want to send your body into starvation mode before 10 o'clock.
Eggs pack plenty of energy, and I love them prepared anyway really, but during the week I make them hard boiled because I can pop them into a pot of boiling water, while I go get ready for the day, and BAM! They are ready when I am; it's a miracle really. I also remember that Dr. Oz told me that you should have carbs in the morning because we use them up or something. SO I present you..... with your protein and your carb; insert a little fruity love into your bfest and you are good to go!!
To make hb-eggs it's easy:
Boil a pot of water wait until it is boiling,
Add eggs,
Wait about 11 minutes (or go get ready)
Rinse under cold water
Crack open ( I usually smash them off the counter)
Peel,
Add a little spicy pepper medley (super yum) and enjoy!.
